I am a life long learner who has a thirst for knowledge and is up to date with Educational policies. I naturally calm person who is approachable and friendly. The calmness of my personality is reflected in how I solve problems especially in how I am able to diffuse behavioural problems with children.

As a Teacher I developed a range of behaviour management skills to support children with a variety of needs. Also working with professionals such as Educational psychologists I have learned a variety of strategies to support all children. Having gained training from Speech and Language Therapists (SALT's) I have developed the skills to support children with speech difficulties.

At Petals Unique I believe that my service is a key intervention that can support and prepare your child for school. Alongside the main childcare service, I also offer out of hours one-to-one tuition. please email for more information.

Teaching and Learning- Early Childhood Education

I have a multisensory approach to support children's learning. This is achieved through key planning of activities and learning opportunities which support the EYFS Early years curriculum.

Planned Activities

The Planning focusses on supporting your child's development in the Prime and Specific Areas of learning, identified in the EYFS.

Learning through Play

Children learn best through play, and this is supported by the learning environment which has a variety of activities which are tailored to your child's needs.

Freeflow Play

A free flow play approach to learning is encouraged to allow children to have the same learning opportunities indoor as well as outdoor in the Outdoor area.

Working with Parents and Carers

I understand the importance of working with parents and having a key partnership with parents to support children's learning in this setting and at home. I welcome parental involvement at all times and I encourage parents to take an active role in their child's learning.

To keep parents informed I give daily feedback in the children's personalised diaries and I also have procedures for emergencies, which are outlined in the Health and safety Policy.

I am always happy to answer the questions of parents looking for childcare such as : When should I start looking for childcare? What are the costs of childcare? What are your qualifications? Are you Ofsted registered? Are you first aid certified?

Educational visits

I am experienced in organising trips as well as carrying out safety procedures such as risk assessments to ensure all the children are safe when out on trips. Parents are always welcome to attend the trips and we give prior notice to allow parents to attend.
